Vintage Fair 2016

4 Apr 2016 – Journey East

Sat: the heat and haze are not the best reasons to be lazy but such is the reality of life and I am lazy! How blessed and privileged to be able to just vegetate for a day!

Sun: at Great World City M1 to try and get more info but to be served by an arrogant condescending young fellow. Bye-bye to the LG phone and tkx for all the communication thru’ it.  Appreciations to Clem who got me a used iPhone and now I have a functioning phone and am sooo up-to-date with What’s App etc 🙂 It is very overwhelming with an Akira TV, a vtech landline phone, Alcatel one touch Pixi3 touchpad and now an iPhone. Will take me sometime to learn to use all these high-tech gadgets!

Gift Greetings at Great World City – bought a set of kiddies’fireman raincoat and a pair of rubber boots at promotional prices S$55! Have been eying these for sometime but it was then way out of the budget without the promotion. Like the froggy ones too.

Nice and interesting things at Journey East annual Vintage Fair. Appreciations to Anita for the invite. Sorry to have missed Philip who just left when I got there. Even I who is not a shopper bought this replicator of an old toy – a reminder of childhood days.

that more tables and chairs are placed in the back-lane to accommodate the crowd. Funky murals there!

A pleasant evening walk to discover many new places and beautiful lightnings at Carlton City Hotel.

The new Oasia Hotel, not yet quite open looks colourful with it’s evening lights. A car had its hood up and upon walking nearer, the owner of this Peugeot with a cute ‘wind-up key’ explained he was just cooling the engine! Ending the evening with this tree is my high-point. Nothing can replace the fascination for nature.

Mon: a good week to all and Happy Birthday to RY.

Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don’t see what goes on underground – as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don’t see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree – Joyce Meyer

All Fools’ Day 2016

1 Apr 2016 – With NO Mobile – For Real and Not A Joke!

img_0940world.cgi

Tue: usual senior day at the neighbourhood grocery Giant, which had a promotion with salmon. Clem dropped by and I made some Bourbon Salmon and Wild Rice for a bite before he headed home by foot via East Coast Pk – app 15-16km. Unable to walk with him not wanting to rip up the stitches in the gum.

Wed: too much on-going mentally and physically. Both mind and body needed a break and it is easier said than done! Worked hard at just not letting the mind wander but ended up zzzzz…

e77efa5635_345x518_fe9e112a35Thu: Happy Bday Jo who will be celebrating her last year in her 70s. Dinner tomorrow night. Had to get out before dozing off again.

Movie Long Long Time Ago 2***continuing from Long Long Time Ago 1 (12 Feb posting) featured how greed and hatred changed the kampung (village in Malay) spirit, racial harmony, family love. Bring your tissues along too. Have now caught up with life in SIN from 1965-77.
