Indecency! + Pet Peeves!!

30 Sep 2011 – Bye-bye Sep!

Having 2 sick grand daughters (Ellie & Sophie) here is a handful for L&J, especially when there are 3 other kids including a 2 months baby who does not understand and needs to be nursed regularly. When kids are unwell, they are usually more clingy to their parents, so do not know if I am much of a help but do what I can.

Am I missing all these actions in SIN? Oh well maybe just as well as with the fumes from F1 + the haze it is probably be quite intolerable! In addition, SIN has been ranked the ‘second-most peeved country’ out of 16 countries surveyed released by LinkedIn, the professional network with more than 120 million members worldwide. In SIN, a survey of nearly 1,000 professionals revealed the top three office pet peeves to be:

1. People not taking ownership of their actions

2. Dirty common areas (such as a dirty communal microwave or refrigerator)

3. Constant complainers!!!

The advertisement featuring a topless man that is plastered on the Orchard shopfront in SIN of American fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch breaches the local advertising code of decency, said a watchdog

The Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore (ASAS), which made the ruling, has called for the ad – put up after April – to be removed.

But there is a hitch – ASAS has no legal rights to enforce its decision. The picture of a model wearing a pair of low-slung jeans, which spans the entire four-level shopfront, remains on display at the Knightsbridge mall in Orchard Road for now.

Some people who found the ad to be lewd and inappropriate for the prominent location wrote to The Straits Times’ Forum page last month, urging for it to be taken down.

Hope that it will still be up when I get back to SIN. Imagine a hunk on the entire four-level shopfront in SIN most prestigious shopping district, Orchard Rd! What a feast to the healthy female eyes! LOL. Have a good weekend and enjoy the ad before it is gone 🙂
