18 Mar 2015 – And Birthdays
Mon: thank you to Ambassador and Mrs Keating for a lovely evening of delicious food, drinks and Irish dancing at the Conrad Centennial Hotel/SIN.
Welcome Ambassador Jeffrey Keating, 5th Irish Ambassador to SIN. Speeches given by the Ambassador, Irish Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald and SIN Minister Grace FU about promoting good relationships to our countries!
A good time with yummy food and abundant to drink was enjoyed by all.
Tue: Happy St Patrick’s Day and Happy Bdays to niece Pat and grandniece Beth. How convenient for a mother and daughter to share the same Bdays 🙂

Needed today to rest after all the entertainment and functions over the weekend. Gone are the days to be able to take part in events after events on the same day! Have to admit that age does catch up!!
Wed: Happy Birthday to my first born Linn who was born a few hours after St Patrick’s Day in Dublin/Ireland 1974! Do remember worrying about starting labour on St Patrick’s Day! To get to Rotunda Hospital, the maternity hospital, one has to drive via O’Connell St, the main street and where the parade was happening. Appreciation to JohnK for the Rotunda pix.
All’s well that ends well, did not have to go to the hospital until the evening and Linn was born in the early hours on 18 Mar. A bottle of Guinness was left by the bedside table! For real. Guinness reminds me of the brewed Chinese herbal medicine, minus the froth and bubbles 🙂
Today one of my greatest blessings is 41. The other of my greatest blessings, May will be 37 in Sep.
Motherhood has completely changed me. It’s just about like the most completely humbling experience that I’ve ever had. I think that it puts you in your place because it really forces you to address the issues that you claim to believe in and if you can’t stand up to those principles when you’re raising a child, forget it – Diane Keaton
