Thu: Bus13 to a fun morning@GeylangSeraiMarket/GeylangRd – less frequented nowadays since most of what is needed can be gotten at the local MT-WetMarket.
GeylangSeraiBazaar/GeylangRd&SimsAve features ~500 stalls including ~150F&B stalls. Delighted to still be able to enjoy looking&soaking in the colourful festivities when possible and without crowds.
and still learning more about the MalaySettlements&Festivities from these nicely done informative boards on the sidewalk.
SimsAve/PLQ2 where the GPO&PosBank is located – there to get some postage-stamps and a new bankbook since in the area. Remembering what the former GPO/FullertonHotel now is quite a contrast from a limited-corner-size somewhere in the basement of this modern building.


Last there was over a year ago Jan2024 with Peggy who was visiting from Australia and wanted stamps for Ian’s new hobby. GPO@PayaLebar, for both of us who remember quite a different GPO of our childhood days.
Surprise visitor telling me it’s time to turn on the AC when I got back just in time before the rain showers. The only thing bought today is this beautiful bunch of handmade empty Ketupat wrappings bought from the marketS$4 making perfect decoration to mark HariRayaAidilfitri long weekend – content&happy to be staying on this RedDot. Not sure if its age or otherwise but just have no mood or urge to be travelling! The idea&thought of being in airports,airplanes,crowds,etc are enough to get the heart pumping like there will be no tomorrow!!

Fri: belated Bday celebrations but still within her Bday month for Gel@FairPrice/PP – nice to bump into Ting&CH for a delightful evening+walking~8,000+steps to&fro and shoppjng around PP.
Sat: prayers are out to all affected by this earthquake – concerns for Theingi in Mandalay/Myanmar, Lily in BBK/Thailand has marked herself safe. USGS Earthquake Hazards Program said that fatalities could be between 10,000-100,000ppl, and the economic impact could be as high as 70% of Myanmar’s GDP.
Vivid memories of before&after shocks during an earthquake when living in 1985-87LongBeach,CA/USA – was the most frightening&traumatic experience with MotherNature.
