3 May 2015 – Safe Journeys To Ann & Mick
Fri: a walk thru’ Robinson Rd, the CBD – nice and quiet being Labour Day, thus a public holiday.
Along the Padang – Malay for ‘field is an open playing field. It was formerly known as the Padang Cricket Ground. The Padang is surrounded by several important landmarks, which include Saint Andrew’s Cathedral, City Hall, the Old Supreme Court Building, combining to the now National Museum and the City Hall MRT Station.
To our reservation at the Tiffin Room Raffles Hotel****for lunch. Thanks to Ann&Mick for a lovely lunch and the first time to taste wine from India. It has been a long while ago since I was last at this place!
Good wine recommendation from our waiter to compliment with the Indian buffet.
Writers Bar by the Grill for another drink before taking off!
Gardens By the Bay but lines were too long for going in the Flower and Cloud Forest domes, so just a walk around the Super Trees. Poor Mick, he was drenched in sweat!
The motifs of cranes sometimes refer to the transformed Taoist immortals (xian), who were said to have magical abilities to transform into cranes in order to fly on various journeys.
Time for a cool quiet place for an angelica! experience at Divine Bar**** at Parkview Sq after MBS and Arab St. All that eating, drinking and sight-seeing in a day – certainly feeling no pain and will have a good night sleep 🙂
Sat: a bite at Maxwell Market, URA, PS Cafe*** on Ann Siang Hill with the best Key Lime Pie!
Left them to their shopping while I tried going to the library but got caught up with still learning to use this camera which is annoying me – do not know how to turn off the auto-flash mode 🙁 Have to remember to turn it off manually before taking the pix…
Tkx to Les&Ivy for drinks at their home and dinner at Long Beach Seafood****at Dempsey.
Scarlet Hotel****a unique boutique hotel conveniently located in Chinatown. Yes would highly recommend it, unusual and charming place inside out. Good service with a smile. Tkx to RY for a great photoshop with me at the window.
Sun: Ann does not want me at the airport, so we parted paths last night. Now for one of the most dreaded things to do – PACK 🙁 but to pack and fly these distances to be with my family is the greatest blessing 🙂
Trying to tie up loose ends before flying off to the US. Oh dear! How can I have forgotten to thank my youngest grandson for his Easter greetings? Hugs to Olai and tkx for mailing it, May.
Looking forward to Sep when I am planning to be in Norway after the US trip. Olai will be 4 and it would be nice if I could celebrate with him.
