Sun: tkx for dinner@Rochalie where BabyKai enjoyed his bubbles in the garden and grandniece Kiera being the perfect baby-sitter. Nice platter, never thought this PandanCheeseCake would get my attention to try more than a tiny bite despite being on the heavy-side but did like it enough to eat a whole piece – tkx niece Patricia/May for the share.
Mon: the seldom time making Cucumber&SmokedSalmon+eggsSandwiches is when there is NorwegianTineButter but not for myself. Its going to take much discipline&will-power to resist but heart&stomach are telling me to fast today or I’ll be sorry. Tkx to KK for the visit and for getting my windows cleaned.
MemorialDay in the US is a holiday holiday (last Monday in May) honoring those who have died while serving in the country’s armed forces. It originated during the AmericanCivilWar when citizens placed flowers on the graves of those who had been killed in battle. The first national observance was in 1868. A Canadian doctor, JohnMcCrae in 1915 was inspired by the sight of poppies growing in battle-scarred fields to write a now famous poem called InFlandersFields. After WW1, the poppy was adopted as a symbol of Remembrance.
