2 Jul 2026 – Farewell to Ambassador SarahMcGrath

Mon: 4yrs has gone by quickly – Wed31Aug2022 was a historic day here in SIN as the first female and 7th Irish Ambassador to SIN, Ambassador SarahMcGrath presented her credentials to the first female President of SIN, President HalimahYacob then. Farewell to Ambassador SarahMcGrath and safe journeys back to Dublin/Ireland.

After a bad experience on the bus last week, hopefully this new StaffQuartersSengkangWestBusDepot/SQ@SengkangWest, SIN first eight-storey facility purpose-built residential facility for BusCaptains, providing comfortable&convenient accommodations close to where they work will help those when SIN is not their home – pix downloaded.
Tue: perfect end to Jun on a breezy cloudy morning walk via EC-Pk/AreaC-ParkwayParade for some errands.
Would usually walk underground&sheltered-walkways back but since it was such a perfect day outdoors and having the park practicually to myself(school holidays over), take-away ChickenRice,Durian,CoconutH2o for a picnic-lunch under the Casuarine&PalmTree,RockBarrier#4/AreaC on the way back.
Feeling blessed to be able to live in such peaceful&serene surroundings despite of the turmoil around the world. Works for LongIsland to start end 2026 – not lo0king forward to the constructions.

French bakery Paul’s/Paragon suspended by SIN-FoodAgency/SFA till 6Jul after cockroach infestation. 55 central kitchens, food caterers, restaurants involved in food poisoning outbreaks in past 2yrs with 113 gastroenteritis outbreaks – perhaps should be eating out less nowadays or am I reading too much into the news? Fri19Dec2025: thankful for SG-CulturePass/S$100, including SisticFeesS$104 – appreciations to Leo for helping with the booking. Has been a long while ago since the last life-performance of any opera and now an enjoyable Mozart’sDieZauberflöte/MagicFlute by the SIN-LyricOpera@VictoriaTheatre. Do know this opera well with ~7min Overture and the beautiful&difficult ~3mins aria Der hölle Rache – complete opera ~2+hrs including 20mins intermission. Photos&video not allowed during performance.
Good enthusiatic audience, pleased with RowBSeat27 and probably the only empty seat26 next to me! No problems being by the timpani when not a full orchestra – an easy get away from the crowds directly by the door with a pleasant short walk across SIN-River to the FullertonBusStop for Bus196 with hardly any traffic&ppl on or off at stops and was back to my 4-walls before 23.00hrs.
Thu2Jul2026: Bus196 to the QUE-link-overpass crossing CollyerQuay to CIMB-Plaza
with a fast TexMex bite@BuenoBuenoS$22.90. DurianIceCreamS$1.50 for dessert by SIN-River in front of ACM@the regular ice-cream-cart was still there without any lines before the sunset.
Tkx for an enjoyable performance with NancyYuen as MadamaButterfly and a beautiful evening with StamfordRaffles who probably never dreamt or imagined the Temasek he landed on in 1819 would have turned out to be what it is today!
