Festive Foods

8 Dec 2023 – To Ring In The Season

Tue: appreciations&tkx to Annette for her share to these yummy looking foods. What an amazing&appetizing way to present these festive foods. Will attempt a fruit platter for CCxmas spread with these yummy ideas or perhaps just stick to Calvin’s favourite FruitCocktail…

Thought cousin Karen might take the challenge for the PavlovaChristmasTree, but she tells me that it will take up her entire fridge and my reply, make a smaller one or get another fridge!

Wed: Happy St Nicolas Day on this 6thAdventDay and Happy National Day to those celebrating&marking the day – Kiitos=Finnish/thank you for today and everyday.

Appreciations to Sebastain for taking the time in these heavy rains – rainy pix credits to him taken on his way, but the tropical showers were over by the time he got to my 4-walls.

thank you for his presence,present,dinner&dessert.

Looks like they are ready with the holiday season’s dessert@CoffeeBean&TeaLeaf/EC-Pk with a cute robot helping to clear!

Tkx to Yngve Olsen, an amazing photographer for these wonderful shots from my favourite Northern town in the middle of the day. Tried to explain that the sun is not around this time of the year in Tromsø/Norway and many find it difficult to imagine. Having to live&experience thru’ these dark winters for 5yrs was tough, but still one of the best times that was another lifetime ago! Somehow Dec had been and still is a difficult month for me.

Tusen takk and appreciations to all who crossed my path above the ArcticCircle helping to make it one of the most beautiful&memorable places to have lived in.

Fri: marketing day for fresh produce+bones~S$30 to cook some stock to last for the weekend&next week – nice that Gel wants to share my simple homemade salad&soup.

Tkx to Edgar ONG for this share:

If you haven’t sent cards this year, or planned the perfect gifts.
If you don’t have the perfect tree or the perfect family, for a perfect festive photograph.
It’s okay.
If you don’t feel like watching your favourite Christmas movies,
and you can’t source the energy to be merry and bright.
That’s perfectly okay too.
No one should be measuring your ‘festive’.
It must not become a badge of honour.
Just hang on in there, finding any joy you can, in any little way.
And remove guilt and pressure, from your already overloaded Christmas list.
Because no matter how sparkly your advent, you can feel the sentiments of the season.
Your way.
Peace, love and goodwill to all ~ Donna Ashworth
