Fri: Boychoir****Stet, a troubled and angry 11-year-old orphan from a small Texas town, ends up at a Boy Choir school after the death of his single mom. Completely out of his element, he finds himself in a battle of wills with a demanding Choir Master who recognizes a unique talent in this young boy as he pushes him to discover his creative heart and soul in music.

Being an ex-music teacher, this movie struck a chord in me…

Nowadays when I look at the music notes and scores 🙂 but the memory is not there any more to play without the notes 🙁

Sat: was really lucky with this morning’s light when passing by the National Museum Decided to stop and take pix and they actually turned out to be some of my best pix.

Managed to combine that old and new in a way to show that it is possible to keep the old in tact and add in the new! The new building is added on to the old can be seen only from the back and side. Stainless steel sculpture ‘Transformation’/2004 by TAN TengKee is appropriately placed between the old and new!

The faun and flora there are beautifully well-groomed.

Thanks to Daisy for tickets to Cinderella***a live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale ‘Cinderella’. And it is sometimes good to watch fairy-tale endings!

Somehow movies is a reminder that the realities and motives in life can also be cruel for whatever survival purposes. Stay alert and be mindful to your own instinct & feelings to deal constructively with whatever issues that  we all have!

Chingay Parade is an annual street parade held here in celebration for the birthdays of the Chinese deities. This year being SIN 50th Bday, some of these floats are visiting the HeartLands and it is my first experience with a Chingay Parade.

The floats certainly lit up the neighourhood with their colourful lights. As for the crowds, no comments! Did anyone see this zoom-up one here? Did not attempt to go nearer to see what she/he was supposed to be, but with some orange+white lights, it will be my perfect Paddy’s Day outfit 🙂

Sun: thanks to Clement for an afternoon at Great World Cabaret@Resorts World Sentosa. SIN yesteryear with dancing-girls, comedians, acrobats and magicians ruled the nightlife. Enjoyable time bringing back childhood memories of Sunday lunches with these kind of performances…

Does anyone remember these kind of shows on Sunday lunches at the top floor restaurants to the now Ascott building, formally Asia Insurance building and the old Cathay building on Handy Rd?

Korea Town and Malaysian Food St@Resorts World Sentosa. Last time I had a pix of Clement with Universal background was in FL USA/1997 when Linn&Jeff got married 🙂

The Koren J-Cone Ice Cream is quite delicious. Must ask Terry Kim if they are really Korean??
