Summertime

3 Jun 2008 – Oslo

It is amazing how the weather can effect people’s moods, especially when dark cold winters emerge. In the late 1970s, Åsgard Psychiatric Hospital in Tromsø where I gave music therapy was filled with people during the winter months. But then SAD was not known and only years later seasonal affective disorder, a mood disorder whose sufferers experience normal mental health throughout most of the year, but experience depressive symptoms in the winter was researched and diagnosed.

The sun with clear blue sky since my arrival convinced me again that Norwegians must be the true RA worshippers. Even the Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl used the name of RA for his expeditions to show that papyrus boats were seafaring worthy on the Atlantic Ocean.

Nationaltheatret was opened 1899 near the vicinity of the Royal Palace and the City Hall, very central. The fountain behind the theatre has the reputation of being filled with soap bubbles during high school graduations but for now, there are only RA worshippers! On the ground floor of the interesting building with the tower is home to Hard Rock Cafe.
